It’s here again! Already! We can’t believe it either, but the Holiday season is right around the corner. We’ve been so busy getting ready- the shop is decked out, and busting at the seams with beautiful holiday home decor, ornaments, toys, and lots of great gifts! We know that everybody has a few hard-to-buy-for people on their “nice” list, so we’ve made up this handy gift guide to help you out!
Our biggest tip of all is to SHOP LOCAL- we believe in supporting our local economy- it really is better for everybody. With all of the unique gifts available from independent local businesses, there’s no reason not to shop local this year.
And now for the gift guide!
For The Practical Hostess:

Under $20 We swear by Pheylonian Beeswax Candles, they’re all-natural, unscented, and Canadian made! Paired with a beautifully decorated box of matches, and cute tin ornament- this is one great gift!

Under $25 Mrs. Meyer’s Bathroom Cleaner is a really effective, all-natural, great smelling product – it almost makes cleaning a pleasure! Hogwash is a funky looking bar of soap that does double duty- use it on grubby hands and to get tough stains out of clothing. We topped it all off with a fun vintage-inspired Santa ornament and voila!

Under $30 We put this one together for the baker in your life- 100% linen tea towels (available in red and blue), paired with a retro-inspired magnetic egg-timer (available in red, black, and blue)-ding ding!
For the Finicky Friend:

Under $20 Foot Butter is a real miracle for even the driest of feet! Pair it with a nail brush and a mini Pré
de Provence quad-milled French soap for a luxurious little treat.

Under $40 This cute mini oil painting is by local artist Lynn Rotin. We carry many of her mini canvases in the shop right now with both floral and pear images. They make a really sweet gift embellished with some tiny ornaments and a bow.
For the Favourite Teacher:

Under $15 Sock Monkeys Wine Covers are a one-of-a-kind locally hand-made gift! They’re so carefully crafted, each with its own personality! Use a Wine monkey for anything bottled- we think the olive oil from our neighbours Liquid Gold would be a great choice.

Under $30 Know a teacher with a sweet tooth? We’ve got you covered with Neil Ripley’s Pure Maple Cream, made here in Nova Scotia. Such a delectable treat, grate it onto ice cream, top a coffee or dessert, or eat it straight up! I-pops designer magnets come in two sizes and in many different designs- so cute and useful!
For the Tiny Tim

Under $30 Lulujo makes the softest organic cotton facecloths for babies, available in sets of 3 and 5- so gentle on baby’s delicate skin. Books always make a nice gift and we have a great selection for kids under 5. We finished this gift off with a Mini Tweet bird-shaped whistle because we know kids love to make noise!
For the Really Special Someone
Under $200 We are head over heels for our gorgeous sari throws! The throws are made from vintage saris, and are hand stitched in India. Each one is unique and stunning. Paired with a glittery pine cone candle, this gift will provide comfort and style to the lucky recipient!
These are just a few of the great gift ideas we have up our sleeves. Let us help you put together just the right gift for anyone on your list, just ask any one of the staff- we’d love to help you out!
